Vladimir Ivanovich Gorodetskiy, Professor of Computer Science, Chief Scientists of Intelligent Systems Laboratory of the St. Petersburg Institute for Informatics and Automation of the Russian Academy of Science, received MS degree in mechanics from the Military Air Force Engineering Academy in St. Petersburg (1960) and MS degree in mathematics from Mathematical and Mechanical Department of the St. Petersburg State University (1970); received his Ph.D. degree (1967) and Doctor of Technical Sciences degree (1973) in the area "Space Vehicle Optimal Control" from the Military Air Force Engineering Academy in St. Petersburg; Professor in Computer Science of the St. Petersburg Institute for Informatics and Automation of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1990). Main publications (more 350) are related to the areas of Optimal Control System Theory, Applied Statistics, Planning, Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence, Multi-agent systems, Knowledge Discovery from Databases and Data Fusion, P2P agent-based service oriented technology and applications, Computer Network Security, Distributed data mining and knowledge discovery, Dealing with uncertainty, Text mining and collaborative filtering. Member of IEEE, ISIF (International Society of Information Fusion), IF AAMAS (International Foundation of Autonomous Agents and Multi-agent Systems, Russian and European Associations of Artificial Intelligence.

Current scientific interests: Intelligent Data Analysis, Data and Information Fusion, P2P agent-based service oriented technology, Distributed and P2P Data Mining and Machine Learning, Knowledge Discovery from Data, Multi-Agent Systems Technology and Software Tools, Agent-based simulation and Applications (in the areas of Computer Network Security, Intelligent Sensor Networks, Distributed Pattern Recognition, Data and Information Fusion, Telecommunication), Dealing with uncertainty, Text mining and collaborative filtering.
